To mobilize the church in mission through prayer, education, giving, and interactive experiences.

OUR OBJECTIVE

To encourage people to pray for all efforts of world evangelization To inform people of the world's needs and what the church is doing to meet those needs. To challenge children and youth to learn about and participate in the mission of the church. To raise funds for mission outreach.

Rev. Libby Newman

Rev. Libby Newman has served as pastor of Batesburg Church of the Nazarene in Batesburg, SC, since December 2014. Prior to becoming the senior pastor at Batesburg, Libby was their associate pastor and had served as a youth pastor in several Baptist churches in South Carolina.


Libby is married to Myles. They have three children, Leigh, Katie, and Jon Myles, two sons-in-law Jeremy and Terry, one daughter-in-law Sydney, and four precious grandchildren, Abbi, Easton, Ruby Kate and Sam. Libby serves as South Carolina District NMI President and is very involved in SC Nazarene Women Clergy and the Batesburg Ministerial Association. While not working or studying for the ministry, Libby enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family, or finding compassionate ministries to be involved in.


Libby has done extensive postgraduate work in Literacy and Language, and has acquired a Master’s degree in Education from the University of South Carolina-Aiken and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Furman University. She completed her district studies requirement by taking classes through both the Carolinas School of Ministry and Nazarene Bible College online.


Libby feels privileged to serve as your NMI President and as an ordained pastor on this wonderful district. Keep Libby in your prayers as she strives to be in the center of God’s will in all she does.
